They say a 20 minute nap every few hours and a man can work around the clock. Never tried it. I think a few great inventors and philosopher type people used that schedule
...or Google/MicroSoft employees. They kinda a different 'breed' from us blue collar boyz. I guess they like their paid yoga too...

I wouldn't be worth wiping the damn floor with if I took a nap every few hours. I'd be an angry MF'r to the SOB who interrupted me.

Not sure exactly how many hours, but probably a few days. We owned a small freelance trucking company, and would get calls for emergency assignments all the time. Quite a few trips requiring two drivers got done by one. I'm not necessarily proud of having broken and bent the rules, but I'm damn proud of having gotten the jobs done. Never had anything damaged, and never had a complaint about not being on time. It sucked for family life, and I never got one as a result of it until I quit the whole thing. I don't have one now either, but that's a whole other story. Lol

Thank you for your service!
Almost like going through hell week. LOL
You bet brother...could I do the same as my previous post now?...sure...but we gotta have nap times in btwn the fightin'. Too damn old for that chit now. It took its toll on me my man, for better or worse. I'm just glad I'm in the shape I'm in...it hurts at times, *f-words with me at times.

25 yr old Navy son deployed on the Carl Vinson this week, be back summer/early fall timeframe of the year.

I gotta 18 yr old baby girl to get through college...and my ass ain't checking up nor stopping now...not until that mission is complete. And damn it's a costly mission...I might be hunting a part time job from my civil service, DoD job. College is some costly chit...I wished I'd a prepared for my half of the deal like her mother did since we divorced back in '06. Always late to the party I guess...

Doing utility work we pull all night/day shifts at times. As I get older it takes a day or to recover. When I was in my 20's i could go home get a shower, a cup of coffee and be good to do it again.

Iam good now but before I had a wife and kids I partied like a rock star and I can't even play the tambourine. Not proud of it but sleep deprivation can do some crazy stuff to your brain.

I work at mission hospital in asheville NC. (Maintenance Tech). I just got home from working snow detail. Clocked in at 7am friday morning and clocked out 7am satrday. Worked regular 700-330 and rest is OT. Been up 27 hrs. I prob have been up longer without sleep in my younger days but it made me wonder, whats the longest day you have had without sleep?
Been there once with our little girl when we were visiting Biltmore. Good hospital, but the first ER doc we had was an A hole. The nurse warned us before we saw him. Asheville is a unique town for sure. Depends in what part you visit. We come over there 5-6 times a year minimum.

Went the first 13 days with only an hour here or there, no showers and the only food we had was scrounge off the pilots/crew. Good times

I'm in the middle of a 5 billion dollar rebuilding operation. I've been working 30-40 hours, 4-5 hours of sleep, then 30-40 hours for a week at a time.

Used to do 2 days straight at other jobs, that now seems like it was ez.
