Cool..no more blue pills for this ol’ man when I wanna nail it half the night. I’m rattle canning my feet and pecker a cool Boobie blue. Results pending...
Took .030" outta the squish.

Randy, if you took .030 from the top of the cylinder, is that just with a gasket delete, or did you also cut the base?
I use the base gasket......
So... you said you took .030 out of the squish but you didn’t say how much you cut the base by. Are you sharing?
Ah.....
I cut the squish, then I measure the clearance from the piston to the band and then decide how much to take off the base. I don't want to have anyone take my notes and run with it, and end up being too tight.
In my notes I rarely have the amount cut from the base. I'm afraid there might be differences in manufacturing clearances, or that I might vary a bit in where I touch off.....
Oh, I thought it was
1) time the cylinder ports and measure squish
2) cut the base to move ports to where you want them
3) cut the squish band to set squish
Sounds like you cut the squish and then cut the base after.

Thanks for reminding me why I stopped doing build threads.
Thanks for reminding me why no one around here is doing build threads any longer.
Fixed for accuracy purposes.
Maybe the site is becoming too much " business related" and not info sharing any more?
Probably not what it's intended purpose was.
Just sayin...
Nothing to worry about with me. You could give me all secret info and I wouldn't know what to do with it.
I'm just a happy saw user...
