Your AVATAR says Yer from the MOON.I don’t think anything like that was done here, at least I’ve never seen any pics.
Well, that pic ain’t from yesterday
ThanksMan, that's a trashy mess. I would have chickened out and at least bucked that leaning dead stuff down before cutting that one, especially being a co-dominant. Great job, though!
November 8th, ready for some more weather like that. Nice weather, nice trees, good ground dont get much better.Well, that pic ain’t from yesterdayall I see from down here is white.

That is a very Nice log and not bad on sap wood. What did the butt scale? Perspectives are deceptive but for a wild guess i will say 16'x16" (144' Doyle) Looks lie it has 4 clear sides unless you have a defect tucked on the bottom side.Howdy fellas, been a while. Those are Flitch Savers - they are plastic and the mill can saw right through them. I throw a couple in the butt’s of the high grade logs when the weather breaks above freezing.Interesting…so the spikes in the end of the log are to keep it from checking? Never seen the likes.

Fascinating. I feel kind of stupid for not having realized such things exist. Those are Flitch Savers - they are plastic and the mill can saw right through them. I throw a couple in the butt’s of the high grade logs when the weather breaks above freezing.
There was a day when I didn’t know they did, either. So don’t worry, just keep on learningFascinating. I feel kind of stupid for not having realized such things exist.
