We have some “sand hills” around here, nothing like straight sand dunes, but very sandy soil, and they do just fine. I would be willing to bet it would stay on top until you broke traction, then it would dig until it hit the bottom..Random: I wonder how a skidder would do in sand dunes. Bit heavy I think.

The Mrs. brought our youngest (3 yrs) out to the job site this morning. They got there just in time to watch me tip one over on the edge of a pasture. He soaked in every second of being in the skidder - telling me the whole time what to do and how it all works. Bonus points to the Mrs for hooking up the choker so I could stay in with him!
