An old stump on my property ,can see the springboard notches still .
Has another tree growing out of it now .The old logging railroad used to run a couple hundred feet from here to get the wood to town ,a lot of the railroad grade is still there ,the tracks are all pulled up though .

Paul Newman in the movie, Sometimes a Great Notion. This shot was staged around a western hemlock tree where they build a wood deck. A pro logged started the cut and then handed the saw to Newman for the film shoot and photos. I wore a jean jacket just like that all the time in the late 1970s.
