Happy to be here. Typical April in SE WI. Rain every other day. Woods is no better when I left it 3 weeks ago. Working in town pulling ropes around. I hate it. I'll be cutting some timber tomorrow tho .

Hey suck it Colton I'm trying to be all kumbaya and *s-word. You know it'll last less then a week specially if there's bore talk involved. Seriously it's been a long time since I've seen an actively posting logging forum. And I can not abide FB.

Isn’t everything supposed to have a nice baby face with a 12” bar do a little bore to set the hinge then do a little dance bore the other side scratch your - - - then hope the strap is still holding?

Look like D7’s maybe F series with Young grapples good old cats we still have one for road work, pushing stumps, and once in a blue the odd large log that will make the 4 stand up on the rear idlers. Those big ones are always a blast to load too build a bounce deck for the shovel well pushing with the cat blade up.

We had a 7E that was a DOG, 48A prefix that was wore out when we bought it.

Dad ran it 8 hours & had to have CAT put an Engine in it.
He ran it another 12 & had to have CAT put a Transmission in it.

It had cooler problems & had to be babied from then on.

After they finished clearing & grading for our 8 Chicken Houses, the next summer Grandfather ran it a couple days clearing for a cousin’s new chicken houses & went to Marv Adams in Atlanta & bought a D8 14A- Direct Drive/ straight shift, & ran it from then till he retired. The 8 is still at the house.

That 7E went to Mobile, Alabama where was loaded onto a cargo ship & sent to Columbia.

We are sure There’s some Colombians cursing us to this day.

The 7G we had later on was a really nice machine: 3306 powered.

I wish we still had that one.

Hoffman's!

I had a brand new pair in size 12 E that I bought in about the year 2000. Only tried them on. Got too old to hop around the logs dragging a big Stihl so I gave them to the son in law along with 3 of my big Stihls. And another pair of Hoffmans, also new, without the calks. He was happy, the boots fit.

Good boots.
