I am north of Skeans up on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, across the salt water from Victoria, B.C.

It is steep up here! Looking south from my driveway into the Olympic Mountains and some of the clear cuts. My place is 3 miles south of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, a 20 mile wide salt water separation between Washington and Canada. Snow 6 weeks ago.

Was there a week or so ago for 2 days, did the tip of the pennisula, Neah Bay Cape Flaherty,, then to Victoria.
Had a great stay, will be back.
Oh my did those log trucks ever go fast on HWY 112,, like Nascar,,,bizzare,,

Yea the guys like big 600 hp Cats under the hood. Time is money!!

When I moved up here in the 1970's there was much more timber being cut. And a lot more trucks!!! You really had to watch for them. I always pulled over to let them pass. Most of them were headed to the Port Angeles Harbor as most of the timber was loaded on ships for export.

pacific, hayes, kw were big in the sticks here.
first 2 were built here [van, bc] sure if ya googled history, find some info.
