Danger tree or hazard tree a snag could come down on a hot shot, the requirement to leave snags standing well harvesting an area is nuts honestly.

I have huge respect for those guys I don’t deal in the fire other then what’s required for us to keep working year round.

I was lucky enough to do it as a full-timer for 20 seasons. Fire fighting and timber cutting are two of the greatest jobs in the world. Nowadays, I'm just another *a-hole sitting behind a desk...

I've seen several variants of those...I think they're pretty much junk.

The first Supt. I worked for invented a tool he called the "Chingadera", which was similar to the Reinhart, except it has a tree-planting hoedad handle.

Two really fit guys with Chingaderas and two with Super P's can move a heck a lot of line in an hour, even in heavy timber.
