Simple enough, didn’t know if you guys had to do the longer lengths like we do out here in the PNW even on our hardwoods.

Nope, usually everything is 8,9 or 10 ft length. On rare occasion you hear of somebody cutting longer stuff but not to often.

I cut a job in 2007 for Alpine Logging out of Myrtle Creek, OR., and they had us cutting some pole lengths (56'10") on the upper third of the unit. A guy has to be fast with pole lengths, because when a 56' long log decides
to flip around, it really flips around.

Honestly it’s not too bad just takes some getting use to after running a machine with a turning and leveling cab. It’s interesting learning to deal with the longer lengths but it’s not that terrible to do.
