My BIL's purebred Taron, my sister calls him Donkey, I call him GoofyHahaha! Probably more for the 'dogs of OPE' thread, but she's a rescue from around New Orleans (we think) that is truly a trash dog. Sweet and loving as she can be, especially for a terrier/pit bull mix (yeah, THAT paints a picture), but like me, probably not the sharpest tool in the shed!

My sisters 3 years old 13% Chihuahua rescue mix Ringo, been all his life at the shelter before my sis gave him a loving forever home end of last year.
Hyperactive, eats anything (rabbit food pellets, whole unpeeled peanuts...) and doesn't get sick, playfull & cuddly.

My queen, Heidi.
Waiting on DNA test results from CANIX.
But mother nature was in extremely good mood when she mixed her DNA, except for obsession with food she has no bad traits and is extremely well mannered.

There are many things that influence a pups character, though without doubt the worst thing is when a dog becomes traumatised due to bad human interaction.
Poor Gypsy!Good looking pups!
Lots of truth in that last statement, our rescue Gypsy was a bout 3 when we took her in. Obviously just guessing, but we feel like she was probably a city pooch, and likely a rough one at that. She was a little skiddish towards men and although she's gotten better over the last 2-1/2 years we've had her, she's become the wife's dog. We live out in the country and shoot and hunt when the season and time permits. Previous dogs either were indifferent to the gunshots or would wander off to the other side of the house. Gypsy on the other hand goes full-out apeshat at loud noises and hides in the closet shaking, which makes thunderstorms lots of fun.
Sounds like a good friend, and a good 11 years while it lasted, still sucks to lose one. We've tried a few times with some small caliber stuff, and she's not quite as bad, but doubt she'll ever get acclimated to the loud noises. Meh, if that's the worst I have to deal with, then I'm doing pretty good, we have friends' farms in the area that we can go shoot at.many years ago i got a Gordon setter , about 1 year old at the time. terrified of the kabooms. so i took her out to the club and i would walk her around the fringe areas while all the noise was going on. she would be preoccupied with all the scents . as the summer progressed got closer to the noise . By fall I had her sitting next to me on the trap line had to stand on her leash so she didn't chase after the targets. along with the noise issue she was afraid to walk into a room with people in it, we got past that in the same manner. only thing i could not get around was the anxiety separation issue, had a lot of good times with her , passed on at 12 years
Never such a thing as too many pup pictures!Think I've posted him before but here he is again.
Ricky.
Have him 7 years.
Dont know his age, turned up stray at a neighbours, they couldn't keep him so we took him in.
