Unfortunately, it is often well beyond that. When they have been in business for years, and don't know an E bar from an ES ... Huston we have a problem!
Our Stihl dealers here could be a little more switched on I don't know haven't come across issues like the ones you stated ,what do you think it stems from lack of product knowledge or not enough training in general just my 2 cents worth

My stihl dealer knows his stuff I've seen him give people direction on how to repair their own stuff rather than having to charge them shop rates on simple fixes. He is the only stihl dealer i go to.

Thanks for being patient. I really wanted to compare your saw to this older version. I appreciate you letting me to that.

Have you noticed some areas of the network are a little up and down in certain places I can't quite put my finger on where though.

Stihl is everywhere here since a giant distributor is in town, dealerships everywhere but the problem is nobody keeps parts since the distributor is so close,it really don't matter what part you need they will have it but you have to wait for someone to go get it so I just stopped buying parts local.
Definitive Dave is my stihl dealor now.

I remember when I was a kid stihl advertised that any place you can buy a stihl there's a tech to answer your questions and repair them.

There's a new dealor in Farmington, mo.
That you can buy a new 661 from a 16 year old with a ear ring in his nose but can't get a spark plug for it. No parts of any kind.

Who would buy a 1400$ saw from a non service dealor?

Woodfin tire and saw was the stihl dealor here and they took care of people and on rainy days every logger was there telling lies and drinking coffee but like most things that are good,Woodfin's is gone.

Saw masturbation is a violation of OPE rules.

Your in a 1% er' club now being a proud owner of a 362..us guys need to stick together to ward off cyber bully's and 362 haters along with goat's of all kinds.

I think the lawnmower business will always be their big product, so the chainsaw stuff is just a side line. They have years of experience, but it is not their priority or passion. And since there is no one close by who is really better, they keep selling.
