Get plastic(composite) toes. Lighter and warmer than steel.

The other day at work I was helping a guy put a 12' snow wing on a grader. He set it down right on the toe of my boot. He's like, OK, can you put that pin in?

I'm like, nope

they help on lighter stuff but id think if you had a 2000 pound beam the toes would get cut off we are required to wear them at work and im use to them but they make boots very heavy

Most of the stuff I work with is way heavier than 2,000



Steel toe might help if I dropped a shakle pin on my toe.

Use skid as reference for size

I hate steel toe, in my line of work I think they would hurt ya more than they help

I could never find a pair that didn't just play hell with my toes .When I worked twenty years in construction I wore lace up Redwings. Now it's just leather sketchers .

Funny thing about that .I had this female apprentice,know it all type .First day on the job,first hour .She chimed in about my shoes .I simply replied,honey I've been a journeyman for 47 years ,long before you were ever even a gleam in you daddys eye .That settled that .

it was a air heater hub mount from beam to beam about 30 feet or so long

the one i did was a new build at longview power plant the job sucked completely because no upper management on the job were doing now they are changing out the old air heater and putting in a new one the plant was built in the mid 70s

Rolltide came up today, and we did some stuff to start getting ready. We've decided to set up in the chicken house instead of the barn. Lots more room. We can park all the campers over at the barn where the power is....
