I have an Ariens 624e snowblower with Tecumseh engine that leaks from the bottom of the crankcase cover (the cover the output shaft comes through). I’ve replaced the gasket twice now this past summer and it still leaks even without being run.

Ive fixed plenty of oil leaks on a lot of different engines but for some reason this seemingly straightforward gasket replacement is not solved. Am I doing something wrong?

I checked the flatness of the the cover and casing and it seems fine. I’m not sure why it would leak like this all of a sudden after being ok for so many years. Maybe it’s the wrong gasket but I ordered based on the correct engine type, it fits and how many different kinds can there be.

Is the mounting plate on the blower frame warped? Once you tighten down the mounts, maybe stressing the engine a certain way?
