Does anyone know anyone who knows someone that can repair a stihl plastic tank for a reasonable price.

I've got a 066 redlight that ide like to have the tank fixed on. It leaks at the seams

Your gonna want to make sure there are zero gas fumes left before you even touch it with the soldering iron. Let the tank sit for a day or two with the gas cap off.

Another option could be Red-Kote tank sealer. I’ve repaired quite a few metal and plastic fuel & oil tanks with it.

Just solder it where it’s leaking (they usually leak on the bottom from being scuffed on the ground over time). It’ll be a toss up wether it works or not... sometimes it does sometimes not.

I don’t think you would have any luck separating the halves and getting it back together. That’s a hard to find tank in nice condition. Hit it with the soldering iron. If that doesn’t work try something like q bond and try to pull vacuum with a mityvac. If that doesn’t work do what Gizzard says. You don’t have to go crazy with a soldering iron. Just run it down the seam.

Super glue (cyonoacrylate) works wonders on fuel tank seams, I have repaired a good few, with zero comebacks!

The guy I bought the saw from (originally I was just working on it for him) tried to repair it with some sort of acrylic. I think the gas ate it or something because it's still leaking. I may just try cleaning the edges up with a drimel and go around it with a solder iron
