Just finished this 460 up. (Had a blown case gasket when I got it originally)...New crank seals, fresh kit in the carb, etc...Second port added on the muffler (not done by me, but looks good) and has had an 046 "D" chamber cylinder put on it at some point...Vac tested. Runs really nice....It's not a shelf queen, but not beat to heck either.....Looking for $500 PHO plus actual shipping via mail

Nice saw. Can't believe it's not gone.

It looks to have a 461 wrap handle, as well.

I have only one criticism of this saw and as few others of the same vintage. The plastic nameplate on the shroud keeps popping off and getting lost by the owner. Whenever I get one in my shop with a missing nameplate, I fasten a new one on with #6 machine screws and lock nuts. That means cutting off the plastic nameplate tabs and drilling a couple of accurate holes in the plate to accept the screws, but it works. Pics available upon request.

BUMP....Surprisingly I still have this. :)
I noticed that. I recently serviced a 460 that had excellent compression but needed some new parts. Owned by a professional tree remover/trimmer for about 8 years, it needed some cosmetic work also. However the saw runs like a champion. The plastic name plate was missing, so I secured a new one for him.

Amazingly, he had a 36" bar and chain mounted on it. I told him that Stihl recommended a maximum 28" bar, but he said, "This baby pulls a 36" bar without a complaint." So, I sharpened all the cutters on a 114 DL chain.

Yours and my 046 Mag are fabulous saws and your price is very reasonable. Some loggers don't like the full wrap handles but others do. To each his own.

If I did not already have 3 046/460s, and 2 with D jugs, I would buy it.

A rebuilt D jug 460 at this price ... a steal!
