Don't forget that little clip that goes on 460 cranks.

Pull the limiters on that carb and you should be fine.

I like OEM pistons, but they cost me about twice what a meteor costs, and I get a great deal on them. OEM prices really shot up over the last year.
Yep the clip is on there!!
I have the IPL out as I slowly piece it together as so make sure I don't miss anything!

What cylinder are you using, and are you doing any port work to it?
Stock Cylinder that was on there, I will be posting pictures when I get to it!

I will not be porting it myself, but it may be getting sent out to @Canadian farm boy when he can squeeze it in for me.

If I get it back together and its a good runner as is, I might just sell it and move on to the next one!

I see quite a few pics of these with the tank bolted up to the case, but the jug off.

Does it make it an extra pain in the azz to get the manifold on?

Anytime I have been in one, the tank was always coming off anyway, so I never tried to get an intake in there while it was all bolted up.

The biggest pain in the azz on these for me is the fuel/impulse line install and carb box wiring if it has heated handles. A few choice words might be heard in the process :). Everything else is pretty straightforward on a 1128.

I have found a pretty easy way to pull it through the tank. I’ll post some pictures/video when I put the jug on!

The intake boot really isn’t that hard to get it through. Just grab a corner and work it through. Try a echo 590, talk about difficult. Very little room to work with when putting it back together.

I never had a real issue getting it through the handle.
I would assume most are installing it on the jug, then bolting that down?
It appeared to me if the jug were on, just making sure the manifold was on that correct would suck.

And, working on many Duramax engines stuffed in van/bus bodies, trying to get the turbocharger inlet duct lined up and tightened down without an air leak, I know about swearing at intakes!

I prefer to put the boot on the jug, then push it through the handle when I install it.

Gives me more room when working with the jug, and I know the boot is on the jug right.
Yep, but I use some pull cord line to pull it through. It’s handy as heck... think it’s in the manual, too.

Me too Mikey. I know the orientation is just right.

But the boot ain’t too hard to get on while the jug isn’t seated yet. Also removing the 2 rear mount screws give you extra real estate.

Wait, Canadian Farm Boy is on strike?
The last 046 rubber bits are due to arrive Sunday for
the 046 Restoration, here.
Thanks, to support south of the northern border.
The nerve of stopping the flow of saw parts to the states, Eh?
