Are you sure the gauge is accurate and it is sealing in the cylinder? That is a bit low but sure would start easy enough at that. Put in seals, vac test and replace the piston and what ever else looks worn.140 psi
I didn't flood it! wasn't me I swear hehe. This isn't my saw... just tryin to figure out what happened. I'm kinda interested in why the low compression at this point. temped to pull the cylinder and consider a new ring.
Got the saw to start with no carb on it....a little carb cleaner and she popped. Turning it upside down helped in think.
Cleaned the carb and put it back together....more carb cleaner and encouragement and she pops. Hot start one pull now. I like the idea of the stuck needle...bUT the carb looked pretty nice
I'll let it sit overnight and try to start cold tomorrow.
All kinds of good ideas in this thread gents. ...thanks.
Flywheel is off...key not sheared
Spark screen clean and clear
Carb apart.... needle does not appear to be stuck....seems to function fine.
Turned saw upside down with the plug out and rotated the crank...definitely had extra fuel in there...
Hold the plug and pull if it shocks you hard its workingPlug is brandy new.....air filter new.
Spark looks weak though. I'll take a closer look one of these days. I'm not home right now...maybe tomorrow night if I get a few minutes after work I can do more diagnostics.
Well the ohms are similar then. Maybe it was flooded .LW....when's the last time you got tagged w/ that kind of voltage?
btw, plug lead to shorting lead is 20k ohms, not 20 ohms, and shorting lead to ground is 17k ohms on mine.
Of interest...the 441 doesn't seem THAT difficult to work on. I don't really know what you guys are talking about. Reminds me of a 455 rancher w/ that double stacked funky carb. Of course, I didn't try to remove the intake boot, but still. carb, flywheel, coil, air filter air box etc all seem fairly straight forward, if not a tad odd.
It runs today right?Good point ...nice tip
