Just got this 290 back together and found out the oil plug by the muffler is missing. I looked in my parts book and can’t seem to find it. Wanted to see if anyone here had a part number or a reliable fix before I go to the dealer. I found a picture of the plug installed in the case. It’s the orange plug in the pic below. Thanks in advance 00488491-952F-46CD-9015-B10908E59E59.png

I think it's just that, a plug. You probably could get away with tapping it and installing a set screw with a little blue loctite or yamabond type sealant.

The reason I’m wanting a factory repair is that I’m planning on selling this saw and don’t want the new owner to have any problems.
Stihls fix, they sell a $2.50 screw that’ll cut its own threads. coat that in Dirko and screw it in.
