looks a little like the old 084 mufflers with the pipes running around inside the muffler.. they were a prick to remove too!The ebay 026 cover showed up .,Has an odd tube inside to redirect exhaust exit ,is this for making it quieter ? I have not stated it yet ,but looks quieter than the modified 3 port stock cover i had .I am on a quest for quiet saws these days so this may be a good thing ?I may add a tube inside my 660 mill saw if it makes it quieter . The angle of the exhaust exit looks like will keep exhaust residue off the saw ,Just noticed no screen ,maybe the tube is for spark arrestor ?

The cover was not wanting to pop into the muffler can ,so i tapped it a little with wooden handle of a hammer ,it popped in but dented the front a little .

Mine has that done as well.View attachment 37351 Here is what I did to mine.
Nice work, but I prefer not the aim the exhaust forward. Tends to catch jack pine and the like on fire. And if your stumping it causes more exhaust to pool around the ground leading to inhaling alot of fumes when there is no wind.
At some point torque drops off, but as it pertains to the MS260 it keeps making quicker cuts the more open you go.So...There is a point of diminishing returns.
Hmmm. Interesting.
The only mufflers I've run on my saw are a bone stock muffler with the little 10mm hole and the modified muffler that I put on it when it got ported@canadianfarmboy
Have you run your 026 with the new style AM muffler? How is it?
