Stihl MS 461 cyl plug threads damaged

If its thicker wouldn't that mean the same threading tool would not work. I am pretty sure the tool I bought was from NAPA.

It does take a bigger threading tool but it can save a cylinder so its the cost that determines if its the route to go or not. Quite likely to cost more for a setup than a new cylinder can be purchased for but its another option to the standard size inserts and welding.

Looks great! The 461 and 661 are both Gilardoni, must be something different in the casting! And some people don’t have a sense for tight and crank down hard, over torque them
