I assumed it has the same crank as the 462 since it has the same stroke.

The MS 440 and MS 460 have the same stroke also, but 460 cranks are heavier because the piston and rod are heavier.

Ideally, the counterweight balances the rod and piston weight. However, saws are often not real well balanced, which is why we need AV.

Just about all cylinders do this. Take one and run water through the transfers and you'll see it in action yourself.

Cylinder is 462 style. Looks like hybrid between the 461 and 261 cylinder design. Front loaded quad port transfers like on the 461/661 and stratos like on the 261.

The swirl advertisement caught my eye as well.

It’s simply not possible on a loop scavenged 2T engine. It would short circuit right out the exhaust port and negate any of the reason for the strato technology.

A strato function picture and that “swirl” picture are simply not congruent.
