Not too shabby with VAT included(23%). But I am starting to see places like FRJones do under 900 for 462's...

Yes, no high output oiler, the same pump as on the MS 341, 361 and 362.

Then a 460 standard or HO oiler is a Bolt On.

You can also just upgraded that pump with the HO control bolt and piston pump.

I’m thinking a standard 460 pump should be plenty for a 361 and are cheap enough used.

From what I have seen, the HO piston and control are nearly as much as a new oiler. I could be wrong here.

The HO pump on a strong ported 361 is the one “one saw plan” I can truly think of. Anything from a 16 to a 36” bar if needed.

Not so sure what the Mag piston is gonna offer here. The saw is rpm limited by the MT. Spoolup already good on these saws.

Wonder how longevity is with the mag piston? Melting point is less than aluminum, also curious if it could catch fire in the bore. That would be interesting to see

This is just a guess. I'm betting the piston is aluminum and magnesium "some call it L-mag I believe" so it won't burn/melt like regular magnesium. Similar to saw crank cases. I would also assume it may have some type of coating.

Saw cases burn very easily, 1 spark from a steel pin caught all the shavings on fire while I was doing some machining on the mill

Magnesium burns very HOT too! We had a fire at a mechanic plant of magnesium. The shavings kn the floor sparked up and burned a hole right through a steel plated floor, eventually catching the wood structured mill on fire and burned to the ground. Only thing left was the steel plate with a hole in it where the magnesium burned through it...

Shavings will burn because of surface area and air. Try and burn a solid chunk and it's tough to get one going because of the aluminum content.[emoji111] I believe the main ingredient in flares is magnesium.

I hear ya.

I actually like the idea of the mag piston. Be cool if you get other pistons made from mag too

Maybe the (white) ceramic coating is helping with durabilty of the piston, but don't know for sure

I would think it would help. But I couldn’t imagine solely relying on the coating. It should be additional benefits and not a necessity
