I’d be curious if it the ms400 could pull and oil a 24 in hardwood. It would be a real threat to a 562 or just about any 60cc on the market now if it could do that.

I was thinking of the control bolt apparently when you fit that to a 261 pump it piss's oil .

Easily upgraded with a 460R oiler or 460 control bolt and gear shaft.
I actually just did this mod on a 361.

Pretty sure thermal expansion would be enough of a difference to notice. If anything aftermarket comes out it will probably be the whole top end.

Softer piston. Saves the jugs if they happen to score inside.
Lighter weight for faster spool up.

Only thing I foresee with a magnesium piston is storing it for very long, better fog it.

If it was a very high percentage mag I would agree completely.
I sort of think it's an aluminum and mag alloy, but have no proof or knowledge if that's even feasible.

Never seen a 400 at the very busy Stihlership at my part time shop. 261 and 362 are still there.
