I’d be curious if it the ms400 could pull and oil a 24 in hardwood. It would be a real threat to a 562 or just about any 60cc on the market now if it could do that.
I'll be the one to piss on your cheerios, Oiler is the same part number as a 361/362 oiler... My most sincere condolences..

I wonder if the aftermarket will make the replacement pistons in aluminum or mag? I wonder if it requires different tolerances being a mag piston in a aluminum jug?

Pretty sure thermal expansion would be enough of a difference to notice. If anything aftermarket comes out it will probably be the whole top end.

Softer piston. Saves the jugs if they happen to score inside.
Lighter weight for faster spool up.
