And, they always make the # bigger, never smaller!!! 260 - 261; 360 - 361 - 362; 440 - 441; 460 - 461 - 462; 660 - 661 etc.

The Stihl #s usually refer to engine size, not power.
If they did that would make a 660 a 555 unless it was 108cc's and 462 a 440. I find it interesting they aren't using liters instead of cu. in. but I would guess it would add confusion because they already used an 0xx series. That series seemed closer to be a power rating at the time on certain saws like an 064 @ 6.3 hp. I think they mix it up with displacement, hp and build versions.

Stihl ms650 4.8kw/6.43hp almost 6.5hp. 660 would be next in line so 2 versions above 064/640 or a 660 has 10% more power than a 650 (6.5 x 1.1 = 7.15hp) so something like that.

Make the 361 again..Stihl

I may be in the Minority but I prefer a MS362R over the MS361 I had.

The way the 361 moves around didn’t suite me.

It was a very nice saw, ( especially after it was ported), I just never warmed up to it.

The MS362R on the other hand,
