the 500i won’t be in Canada until next May. So what’s everyone’s opinion. Should I wait, buy a 462 or 461 or have my 460 ported?

My $.02 is port the ms460 to scratch that itch while you wait for the 500i.

Porting would be a good value, then you'd end up with 2 excellent saws after getting the 500i

After you get the 500i, keep the 460 as a backup.

I have a ported 046 that is very strong. Never ran my 500i against it. The weight is the big difference . If you like cool old saws , port it they are good runners.

Having one imported is close to $2000 cdn, not going to happen.
I also have jonsered 2159, 65, and 71’s and an 066 so no worry about back up saws.
It’s the higher performance for less weight that I’m after.

Having your 460 ported would be the best bang for your buck and leave you with the most left over for when the 500i comes to town.

Porting by a girl or guy ?? is this that Identity thing or a Bi thang if so how do you distinguish between "PORTING" and "IMPORTING" Seems porting should be identified as INPORTING as most all of the work is done inside of the cylinder.
