Me too. This is the first I’ve heard of any poor quality Stihl chain.

They have changed who they source them from. They used to be re branded, swiss made Vallorbes and now they are marked made in Germany and the way it's marked is exactly the same way Pferd does their files.

I find that Stihl chain stretches much more quickly than some. I've been happy with Oregon, but we use a Franzen grinder so inconsistent tooth temper isn't an issue.

My personal experience is the exact opposite, Stihl pre stretches the chain and they seem to need less adjustment than an Oregon won’t even talk about tri-link in the stretch department

That's weird. The rivet hardness disparity is very evident while punching out or spinning rivets.

Haven’t noticed that on any I’ve made or shortened including.404 harvester chain with
.080 drivers.
