Is it normal to use a little Dirko to seal the carb to intake manifold on a 201t? I'm fixing one for a guy because it wouldn't idle, found a hole in the intake. When I tore it apart there was dirko between the carb/intake. I checked the parts diagram and don't see the normal rings like on older stihls. When I get the new manifold and put it back together should I use dirko too?

There is a plastic support ring in the ‘boot’ entrance.

Otherwise, no glue needed.

I believe it only comes as part of the carb. I put a new carb on my non mtronic 201t last week and it came with the ring that helps seal and maintains the separate air path thru the boot. The boot does have raised rib on the outer edge to seal against the carb body. You could always test using a smear of grease for a seal

Edit, IPL shows as piece 32 on carb . 1145 141 1800

Thanks guys, I looked closer at the carb and see why there isn’t the normal ring I’m used to on older saws. It sealed up fine without dirko, I’m guessing someone mis-diagnosed the tore intake and tried the dirko.
