what sizes have you got ,lol i have 4 sizes 3 of the stihl branded ones and one of the pferd
what angles are they , mines 30 degrees but wondering why it is that angle used forI have one for 3/8 picco. Works slick. I've gone to square on everything else though.
same as mine 7/32 , what top plate angle3/8 picco 325 and 3/8 in stihl and the pferd has the 7/32 files says 404 but some 3/8 chain makers suggest the 7/32
thanks , thats why i stopped using mine , its about 30 yrs oldi usually just try to match original angle of the chain you can do any angle you want with them just keep them consistent
mine only has the one round and 1 flat , need the change file every time for the other side to file , ill put a pic up in the morningthe ones we are talking about hasnt been out long less than a couple years
yep thats the oneyou have the older style pferd model ?
cool i like em@RI Chevy has one of those i think
heres mineYup. I got 2 Pferds. They have 2 files and the center raker file. 3 total. I have .325 and 3/8. I think they are 3/16" and 7/32nds. My 3/8 chain states to use 7/32nds. Only Stihl 3/8 uses 13/64ths.
I cannot see the witness marks on the cutters when using the 2 in 1 file. I just try and keep the plastic angle flush with the bar. Seems to work OK.
I don't use the 2 in 1 every time. I only use it about once every 5 times. The other times I just use the single file with the guide.
yep i know , but still works great , it of a pain chaining the round file thoughYou gotta upgrade. That is a dinosaur. Lol
