I have recently purchases an 084 fitted with a tillotson HT-2 Carb. the carb seems to be over fuelling the saw even at its leanest setting. I believe these carbs have a second high speed circuit. My question is, has anyone else come across this issue before, and if so what was the solution? I have swapped a Carb off a different saw onto it and it runs much better with no rich running issues. I also have a carb kit on the way, but it wont be here for a week or so.

HT-7A. They are fully adjustable.

Metering lever is too high or the diaphragm is old and stiff holding the needle open.

They have a fixed nozzle in the carb, very common. Even closing the H needle it still overfuels as a method of limiting rpm.
