SOLD stihl 044 screw cap tank

Anyone out there needing a 044 screw cap tank?

I have one I bought, here OPE from skippy last winter. Was going to use it on a project 044 I have. But I never ended up using it. It's been sitting in a box in my basement for the last year.

It's a nice tank. If anyone is interested I can get it out and get some current pics. 044 screw cap tanks are hard to find. Price, I want what I paid skippy for it, $155.

Id take screw cap over tool less any day of the week. I wish stihl would have never invinted tool less caps,the leak and if not on right they come off and dump gas and oil all over you.the only stihl i have with tool less caps is my 361 for that reason

The floppy tanks are built better. The screw cap tanks get broke pretty easy...

Im not so sure about that unless due to age the oils break down in the plastics.i will take a screw cap any day the flippy caps leak and you have to replace them verses replacing a gasket.they dont seal if any dirt around them.you have to clean with a rag so dirt dont get in and to seal if you put them on slightest bit off they come off and dump gas or oil all over you.nothing like being in a tree or bucket and have to come down to refuel or refill bar oil

The 440 handles are reinforced better than the 044 ones. Compare them side-to-side.

You can get AM screw in caps to replace the floppy caps.

There is not any holes in the tank.

Ive tried those chinese screw caps that replace the flippy caps they are so tight you allmost need channel locks to put them on and take off the are so tight i bought 8 and sent that crap back and got a refund

Like i said only saw i have with flip caps is 361 i have an 020t 026 036 044 10 mm 044 12 mm and 064 the only saws i would buy with them is 200t or 361 other then that i like the older saws for 3 reasons screw caps and less epa regulations better timing numbers older saws run better just sayin
