Can you replace the 50mm P&C with a 52mm version with a 10mm wrist pin? Asking for a friend.

The big bore kits are notoriously poor runners compared to OEM. I'm guess the gap would be even wider compared to one of the "legendary" slant fin jugs.

meteor in my 10mm
ever weigh oe vs those?
I haven’t. I only use oem pistons in 10mm 044. Typically the saws I’m working on belong to someone else and with the supposed pin boss problems with the meteor 10mm pistons it just isn’t worth it for me to gamble.

There are OEM 10mm P/C kits floating around that you can get your hands on for under $200 if you ask around. Something to consider...

I just weighed the piston with rings as the oem are still on and one is stuck in. I'm guessing the oem would be about 1 or 2g heavier, as it’s thinner on the exhaust side and lost abit at the bottom.

Oem 74g. Pin 12g
Meteor 83g Pin 13g

At a quick glance, but no measurements taken yet, The pin to crown height looks the same, although I have not removed the carbon on the oem. the overall height looks the same.
The skirts are the same width, except the meteor has those wings. Also the windows are smaller on the meteor

and ...

I was gifted an 044 bottom end with the 10mm wrist pin a few years back. Thought I’d supe it up with a ‘big bore’ kit and found a 52mm kit on eBay all the way from Germany for about $150. Looked like legit quality but idk and I can’t find the link rn but anyways the saw doesn’t run well. Screams then dies or if I turn it down it just runs like the air filter is clogged, no middle ground to be found. It’s probably just my tuning skills but either way that’s my experience.
