My Mediacat is on my shop computer which has no Internet

I received it in pieces. The previous owner said the quickstop had failed and he had tried to fix. I was hoping to be able to switch out the components in the handle and disable the rest while maintaining the function of the top handle chainbreak. I am having my doubts now. Seems to me that it will need a different clutch side case half, oiler and traditional chainbreak assembly.

I have found this too. Now there is a 036 case with crank and oil pump on ebay $39.99 and $15 shipping

Has one of you changed the half and maybe a good worm gear for the 036QS left right now? Mine is broken, so it doesn't oil and the part isn't available anymore :-( Thx Christian

Wow, what an F-ed rube goldberg setup that is. Its interesting, ive seen lots of older stihls that say “electronic quickstop” that i know have never been worked on and dont have all that bs goin on. Are they 2 different things?

Yes they are different. I "fixed" my qs036 by getting a regular 036 case.
