I need a new air filter for my 036 Pro. I have one half already (see photo) which I bought thinking it was the whole filter so I guess I just need the other half.

Can these filters be reflocked?

Also it seems it's not getting good oil to the chain. It's an old saw as you guys know I'm sure. Maybe it's time for a new oiler, too?

Here is the half I already have:

I don't think it's possible to reflock.
Yes you will need both sides.

I bet the oil line is melted. Do a search for 036 oiler install. It's not fun the first time. It's a $15 fix.

If I'm not mistaken, you have the back side of a non 036 Pro airfilter. I think you have #27,28image.jpg my 036 Pro takes the top af assembly.

Would the oil line be melted at a visible place?

Or does it need pulled out to see the melt?

I'll take it apart this evening and get some photos.

Thanks for the help.

Yes you would need to remove the clutch to fully see it. You wouldn't have to remove the oil pump itself to see it though. You are looking for #2. #13 is what broke on mine. image.jpg

If it is the hose, the Stihl kit cones with enough tube to do two. You will probably good up the first, just call it practice, and you'll be set for the second attempt.

Yes, awesome saws that are worth the effort. Especially when ported.
