@Basher another question. I noticed that I have 2 metal handles for supposedly an 026/024. But the screw holes on the bottom do not line up. The one hole is drilled out wider than the hole in the handle. That handle should accept the plastic handle then? Are the holes closer together on the plastic handle? Are the metal handles later or earlier? Thanks.

The early 026`s up 1993 had metal handles, the ones after may have metal handles if they are Arctic models, non Arctic ones have plastic handles. I really cant comment on the hole sizes or spacing without checking out my saws for certain but I have replaced quite a few fuel tank/rear handle units but not noticed any differences in them, will check later tonight.

No idea on this one. I prefer the metal with the rubber wrap. All the 026/024 that I’ve seen, they swap with no problems.

Maybe its an 036 handle? Got to get out 1 of my handles and see. I hate when a series of saws has got so many different parts.

I think the plastic and metal handle bars are interchangeable on 026s.

This is what I have seen. The plastic handle does have longer screws on the PTO side mount than the bottom. On the metal handle, all 4 screws are the same. Really old saws, like 024S, have pan head screws and not torx on the handle.

Never seen any notched Tom. Have seen quite a few metal ones that were bent that wouldn’t line up until they were “persuaded”.

As for that fuel line, I’ve seen many saws with oem lines that had different model numbers from the factory embossed on them. Pretty sure the factory 036 line doesn’t have 1125 cast into it, it’s another model #. That little “tit” on the base is just an indicator so you know the rotation of the line.

The newer S shaped line makes filter swaps a lot easier.

Yeah, I have some of those panhead handle screws in my stash of parts. Probably put them on my Super I plan on getting up soon. Bought a handlebar for that one too!!
