I personally don’t think they’re that bad to work on and you probably missed the screw that holds the saw rewind on from the muffler side. If you shine a light inside by the muffler or take the muffler off you’ll see it.

Well how about taking the air filter off and taking the nuts off under the air filter? Pretty sure they hold the carb tight to the air filter housing which would keep you from pulling it apart

These things are equaly as big of a pain in the butt to work on as a Mini Mac .It's like removing a turtle shell to work on plus it's put together with slotted head screws .One of the most mechanic unfriendly saws Stihl ever made .Along came the 020T which is the most mechanic friendly saws to work on .My advice worth about 2 cents is if you ever need to tear one down to the bones is replacing all slotted headed bolts with eiether torx or allen heads .Even then use some anti sieze on the those bolts .Also find a good IPL because the wizards at Stihl are very good at hiding bolts where you never would suspect they would have .
