I get a lot of questions from folks who want to try a new rim on their saw, but they aren't sure which spline size they have on their current setup.
Use your pocket change to cover the end of the spline to tell which size you have.
A penny covers the splines on a Stihl small spline such as this MS241 sprocket/rim set.

A nickel covers the splines on an Oregon small spine such as this 346XP sprocket /rim set.

A Quarter covers the splines on an Oregon large spline such as this MS660 rim set.

Dave your ratio of ported Stihls to Huskies is terrible, I mean, come on man, you gotta at least have a srcarr 288, 2100, and a Mastermind 395!

No telling what they call it Niko. It can be confusing though.

Obviously - I learned about it the hard way many years ago, when an o24 needed a new rim - instead of using an Oregon branded rim, I needed a Stihl branded one, that cost 4 times as much (but is made by Oregon, or at least on the same factory that is making the Oregon ones).

If Stihl called it "mini" it would likely would have saved some people from confusion - but they don't.

You can also use an open end wrench to see what you have. Slide the wrench on the clutch drum too see what you have. I forget what the sizes are though.

Great tip Dave, but now that we Canadians have dropped the use of the penny, we're fresh out of measuring devices. ..lol
I'll stick a premium American penny in the Ebay store for you.
Unfortunately the shipping will be 13.25 and the Ebay and Paypal fees will be another 1.59 :)
