I don't know the logistics but, when I was a teenager many moons ago my 2 stroke motorcycle was stalling out on acceleration and I took it to my friends house who's Dad was a top mechanic from small engines to airplanes . He pulled the plug, said the gap was to wide, closed it a bit and problem was solved. Since then until now I have had chainsaws come to me like wise gapped like a car, I regapped them .o20, problems solved.

I am currently using side gapped plugs in my saws and truck. I know I had to retune the saws after the change, but I can't remember if it was rich or lean...

didnt someone on here do a bunch of testing of spark plugs and gaps that came to the conclusion that the only thing that really made any difference at all was having the correct gap recomended by the mfg.
