Solsticefest

So for a number of years ive had a party on, or on the closest saturday to the winter solstice. Last year a few hearty souls @huskihl , @PullinMyPoulan , and @another guy who's not on here yet apparently, made the trip and the weather was pretty good for northern MI around then.

I figured that, regardless of weather, i should invite anybody who wants to make the trip again this year, Saturday December 17th to Frankfort....

@another guy, with the brown coat and carhartt bibs, is my brother-in-law. He and my sis were visiting from FL and thought being frozen for 8 hours was a good idea. He's probably still cold from it

Just gettin back to this thread, i was thinking of stayner, who hasnt made his way over from AWESOME-SITE but your BIL was great company as well kevin. This party is still going down, sorry for the lack of updates lately, life keepin me pretty busy presently.

There's a few more Michiganders in here now. Might get some more guys to bring some saws over and eat some chicken wings, chili, and smoked ribs. For as simple as it was, the menu was perfect

T-minus 13 days or so, not much to update other than that ive been cleaning up in my barn and got some wood dumped! Gonna see if i can get another load of stuff dropped which will give us plenty of stuff to cut. Planning on some chili again, and probably some type of smoked chunk of meat, certainly chicken wings from dinghys (kickass bar/restaurant in town). Menu is an open dialogue if someone wants to bring something. Ill have some bevvies too, but likewise feel free to bring whatever you like. Alcohol is welcome, obviously kept in check while the saws are goin. Plan remains to make some firewood in the morning/afternoon for a friend, firewatching and BS to follow. Lodging for adventurous types who wanna crash by the stove in the barn. Gonna get to work on settin up wood this week, pics to come.
