Nice bunch, all blacks. Funny thing is I usually catch more whites, but Saturday all but three were blacks. Spent about 4 hours on a brush pile that is just off main channel so they were constantly moving in and out of it.Yesterday's catch is almost thawed out enough to clean. Not as impressive as Tony's batch, but beggars can't be choosers.

I don't think we have any whites in my neighborhood. Usually I'll take home a dozen gills and a speck or two, but the gills just weren't cooperating after that cold snap we had.Nice bunch, all blacks. Bit slow yesterday, overcast and fish didn't want to bite. I was more interested in figuring out new graph anyway. Still had a good day away.
Curious to hear your thoughts/opinions on the “live scope” set up. My son has been after me to take the plunge but man they are not cheap!View attachment 444698

I am divided on my thoughts on them. You might try to find someone with one and take a look firsthand to decide. I learned to fish without them so the transition is interesting. I mainly use it to locate fish in brush piles and set my depth. But now I can see how the fish are reacting to color, speed, etc. One of the main things has been boat placement. I can setup off the side of a pile with anchor lock and can drop jigs and know I'm not getting hung up in it. I learned on regular sonar how to do about the same thing, but this is at a different level. Saturday I watched fish come out of the brush to feed as schools of shad came over them. I started flipping my jigs out over the top and could watch the depth of my jigs and keep them just over the brush. I started with the Lowrance active target since I had Lowrance charts anyway and they interfaced with my Xi5 trolling motor. I am going to phase over to Garmin over the next few years. Their trolling motor is stupid expensive and I will probably try to find a used one at some point, but not for a while.Curious to hear your thoughts/opinions on the “live scope” set up.
