What are you using. Been running bobby garland 2" since I can change color when I want. Few on minnows Sunday, but nothing yesterday. Can't get anything but shiners around here for some reason. Been told probably won't see fatheads until next spring. Last few years I have been using fatheads since they won't hardly touch the shiners. Maybe because of the large shad spawn this year and they are looking for something different.View attachment 435533
5 quick ones for supper tonight!
Grew up with grandfather tying doll flies and I tie them the same way. Use yarn for the tails instead of feathers most times. Just unravel it when you use the jigs. The yarn will outlast feathers by a long shot . He made his own mold for the heads and used a pair of dikes to cut the excess lead off. Gave them a tapered head with a weight about 1/20th oz.View attachment 435600
Tied these this evening and going to try them out tomorrow.
My bank rod for spinners is a lamiglass 9’ 15-40 line line weight 1-4 oz lure weight, I tried a few rods, and this worked the best for pitching 1.5oz of lead and a larger size 6-7 blade spinner. I tried lighter rods and the either snapped casting or started to creak and sound like they would let go, or was to limber to get good distanceWhat size rod and line are using on fish like that
Sometimes you just gotta take that chance.
Easy fishing, got a kicker on my boat. Guy that retired from work called bass sewer trout.View attachment 437098
First time trolling crankbaits. Quit a little early to come home and make a few changes to rod holders but I think I’m gonna enjoy trolling. Also caught 4 green carp (bass).
