Any of you boys from nc do a little surf fishing? I'm on the way to corova this week. I have every kind of whatnot packs and am ready to go, but fishing surf and sounds is weak right now. I need suggestions.
I lived in New Bern, NC for several yrs, many yrs ago while stationed at MCAS Cherry Point. We'd get in the Pamlico Sound, outta Morehead City/Atlantic Beach area, and quite a bit further out and get on the mackerel, sheepshead, amberjack, drum, etc. We'd do a little surf/pier fishing...but no comparison to getting out there with'em. One thing I did enjoy as much as the fishing, was setting crab pots with buddies on the Trent and Neuse Rivers...blue crab heaven. And man we could throw down the groceries with some grilled fish and pot after pot on the fish cookers, the blue crabs. Damn good times back then.

Not sure on the plastic rings but they kind of look like a quick release for a down rigging set up.

The pen looking tool is for holding a hook to tie. The end should slide out under spring tension.
Ya thats what figire the ring thing were for too but dont know how to use them.
I found a video on youtube on the knot tier. It works good.

Anyone know what thes lure things are for. Thers no hooks but a hole write through and a slot.

J-plug. It looks to use a separate hook assembly.

Got to the beach around 4:30 yesterday and then headed out to the beach. Caught a pile of mullet and spot on blood worms. I even caught a spot in my bait cast net. They're all sliced and diced for a day of cut bait fishing. Hopefully I'll see a few flounder today. Woke up too late for the blues. Lol.

I fish Jekyll Island Ga. I was fishing the very southern tip of the island at the time. The bait was a piece of cut eel similar to this.
