I was looking for a 9 inch unit already and since I have a 12" Lowrance Carbon anyway I thought I would buy another Carbon unit since they would play nice together. Russell Marine Products had the 9" and the Live Target on sale for $2400 so I used some of the money from the boat sale a bit early.

Been running Lowrance for several years, just my preference(ford, chevy, dodge, stihl, husqvarna thing). Been pretty happy with them and I also network my trolling motor as well. I'll dig out some pictures if I can find them in a bit of screenshots on the unit. Big as you feel like you can afford is one thing. Makes it easier as you get older.

First is schools of white bass feeding on shad. Second and third are schools of paddlefish. I zoomed in on the side imaging so you can make out the bills and tails.

Jigging 1/4 oz jigs in about 45 foot of water catching crappie.

Ice breaker yesterday, but still had a bit of fun. Wind came up and pounded us as well making it hard to keep on the brush for jigging. @bradb123 Ran the active target yesterday and after I figured out a few things it is night and day from 2d sonar. This is a pretty clear water lake so that helps, but I could find bait fish out past 100 foot from the boat. 18* beam on it so it takes a bit of practice to read the image but overall impressed. Jigging two 1/16 oz jigs in 34 foot of water I could see the jigs and watch fish hit and tell their size and what jig they hit. Get it lined up right and throw out and you could watch the jigs fall over 50 foot from the boat.

That fish finder looks awesome ! I drove up to my cabin in Northern Wisconsin yesterday morning to check for any storm damage. You would need a pretty big ice breaker to bust through the ice on my lake.

I ended up getting vessel view mobile since the price of the gateway was about 2 1/2 times the cost. It looks like you are trying to get part number 8M0165589 which is available easy on the web here(ebay for certain). I am not sure what the shipping cost would be to get it to your side of the world. It appears that ebay.com.au (I know it's not New Zealand) has them that will ship from the United States so possibly contacting one of the sellers might be a way to get it.

Helped a friend from work setup a Motorguide XI5 and NMEA 2000 network yesterday. Talked him though a reset on his graph today to make the trolling motor controls work. Turning cold in a couple days and it will probably be a couple weeks to get back on the water.
