I roll year round. If the water isn't hard I'll give it a try if I don't freeze to death. We also have a dock on Grand Lake that is heated so even if it's frozen out we can still get out. This was this last January. Can catch them year round.
Love it

Had some pretty pictures out on the ocean in a quick snowstorm. It was a good un. It was a super quick passing snowstorm. Just big flakes falling straight down. Didn’t catch that day but it’s a memorable one. Went out one morning it was 6-7 degrees. My controls froze from frost had to dump sea water on them to get going. The sea water was actually freezing on my gun Wales. There was no wind that day so it was doable. No fish that day either.

If you have the right clothes cold weather fishing is awesome. I don’t care for it when it’s cold enough that your line freezes up in the guides on your rod though.

Late season fishing can be awesome ! The lakes in Northern Wisconsin normally freeze up for the winter in early Nov. Like most other musky guys , I use braided line that will absorb water . The line will freeze . Us musky guys are always casting and reeling . If you are jigging or use mono line you are fine .

I run 65# power pro line on these two rods. These are my light musky rods in use for small spinners and small crank baits. The rods are rated for 3/4 to 3 Oz lures .

These are my heavy musky rods . I run 80# power pro on these. I use them for bigger crank baits and small to medium sized rubber lures .

I run 100# power pro on my extra heavy musky rods. One of the rods I use for big rubber lures up to 13 Oz. The other I use for glide baits .

Which rods are those, I couldn't zoom enough to read them? How do you like them? I've been looking for a good light lure rod in that range. Bought a 9' mh Chaos this year, but still too stiff for me. Was thinking about trying the 8-6 or 9 mh Tackle Industries.
