Took some much needed time away from work lately, took my kids to the Shenandoah river and caught some smallmouth bass. Course I didn’t have a camera because we were wading in but they had a blast.
Then Monday the boy and I went to the local pond, we’ve been there before and we usually catch a few largemouth and sunfish. Well low and behold we got on a school of Crappie.
14 crappie, 4 sunnies, 2 bass in about an hour and a half, now that’s catching not fishing, lol. Course then dad threw our only suspended jerk bait in the woods and they wouldn’t eat anything else, haha.

It was a nice fish, fought like a chinook and came right out of the ocean! As you know the sky is dark and a little smoky, so the pics don’t do the fish justice, they look dark and gray but they are shining fish but they here is no sun! Lol I owe you some fish, do you want me to vacuum pack and freeze you some? I would try to get it to you fresh but it looks like it could be a while before I head down south

This is Ben, a tree guy I deal with on occasion.

Missouri River. Blue cat on a ten inch carp bait. He claims 65# on pole and line. Three weeks ago.

Knowing Ben is given to exaggeration, I would believe 40# on a bank line. [emoji57]

One never knows with Ben.

My new to me last year boat is an 07. Does a good job of what kind of fishing I do. If I were to look at a new boat I think it would be a Crestliner Authority 2050. But the amount of coin required says that will not happen.

You need a drotto. Makes life easier on the boats with bow eye that are hard to reach from the trailer.

Took me a while to decide on boat style. 1800 Sport Angler. Drove almost 3100 miles for this. Wanted a big dance floor. Easy to take friends without bumping into each other and dad can move around easier without having to step up and down.
