First snow yesterday, 3.1., about 4".
It started in the middle of the night as a rain shower at -9°C, thus the snow has a nice bedding of ice.

Other than having to clear my yard and drive way I don't mind snow, never did, no matter how high it is.
My car has decent winter tires, and as additional insurance I keep a set of snow chains in the trunk (which I never needed in the last 12 years).

I like driving on a thin layer of fresh snow, like up to 6", its fun - during the day!
My car is front driven, I put winter tires on all four wheel's.

Rained all day here so the snow is pretty much gone for the moment. Gonna be colder tomorrow so who knows??

I like to have about 4-6 inches on the ground all winter because it helps my hunting. At least we've gotten enough to knock the brush down so far this year.

Last year we got nothing and never even put the plow on. That's very rare around here.

Power has been out since yesterday evening at 6:30 PM and it is now 8:42 PM. Power came on 10 minutes ago. haha Snow is about 2 feet deep in untouched areas. Temps have been around 30 all day. Roads are terrible, but a blast to drive in! Especially with one wheel peel. haha Some pictures for your liking. Wouldn't be going Anywhere if I didn't have this load in the truck. haha And a good set of tires. 037.JPG 039.JPG 006.JPG

Woke up to 6" which slowed the commute to work a little bit. Supposed to keep snowing until tomorrow, then get brutal cold (-14F). I'll be plowing tonight when I get home.

I'd like a little more. There's some on the ground, maybe 4" in places, but nothing fresh since before Christmas. We've had rain that froze and also freezing rain, so the ski trails are junk until we get something fresh.

I did have a "fun" driving experience last night. I had my tractor on my new trailer for the first time. Tractor is about 6000#, not sure about the trailer, but it's a 14k 22' deckover, so I'm figuring close to 4000#. Truck is a 2wd base model '90 f250, so pretty well maxed out. I had good enough traction most of the time, but slid to a stop a couple times, even driving very very cautiously. The back roads had a nice layer of ice on them. Even with good tires it was not pleasant. Made it home safely, though. One thing's for sure. My next truck will have more HP. I love that 300 straight 6, but it's a dog with a load like that.

Weather man is calling for 2-3 feet between now and sat morning. Got some strong winds out of the west over the lakes.

I feel blessed to live where I do. I like some snow a couple times a year but nothing about feet of snow is exciting or makes me want to live up north.
