Picked up a tiller for $50 I hadn’t ever seen before. Brought it home changed oil and fresh gas and she fired up. Electric start and everything. It’s a beast of a tiller. Restoring it now.

If you need to access any of the drive mechanism see the giant brush guard on the front. It doubles as a service stand. Tilt the machine all the way forward and it will stand there up right as solid as a house!

I like it, and the one by the trailer tire. I have one of the old troy bilts. Got it with a busted con rod. Did a re-power with a predator. Some day I may take a stab at refurbishing the Tecumseh that came on it. In the 6+ years of ownership, I've only had to replace the tiller seals.

He does seem to have a tiller fetish! He needs to try one of these!

My bro in law has the same tiller. I have done all the maint on it for last 15 years or so. He probably has a few thousand hours on it. It needs a new engine but i cant find a suitable replacement. OEM snapper parts are getting scarce. Replace the foam air cleaner regardless of condition. That model 8hp Briggs was bad for wearing the valve guides so change oil often to help with that. Nice snag!

I have a 732 and I’m looking into a bigger 800 series. Just need to decide front or rear PTO for my main use. I have the rotary plow, tiller, cultivators, and sickle bar mower. Looking to upgrading for a flail or brush mower.

Mine is a 720 I bought at an auction for 10 bucks! It was missing the clutch. I repowered it with a kohler ch395 and rebuilt the tiller gear box. Obviously put a clutch in it. Still 2k under what comparable 732 cost new.

You need front pto. Looks like all your rear implements are soil working so you would be better off with more ground speeds for your mowing applications. As far as flail or brush mower, flails are better for known fields void of big rocks and debris but can still cut most everything the brush mower can cut. I would prefer a flail over brush mower due to cleaner cut and better distribution of clippings.

I’ve actually made a few dollars plowing gardens for locals that have small gardens or wanted gardens in a fenced in backyard. I charge $75/hour to plow and till. We have several people that do custom plowing and such but they have sub compacts or bigger and a lot of folks just want a small garden 20x30 or so and I can knock it out pretty quick. Downside is the wear and tear on tiller tines. Those suckers aren’t cheap for the BCS.

I didn't think they where too bad. $85 for a set with bolts. The set on mine when I got it where a little past due!

Nice old machine. Snapper was the king of OPE when I was a kid, had a sterling reputation. Always wanted one of their RERs.
