Most guys probably consider a 'reduced weight' bar that is less than 28" an unnecessary indulgence. I am mostly interested to see if this 'bonded' SpeedCut bar is stiffer than the spot welded OEM bar. Flexibility is my only real concern with narrow kerf bars.

That's also why my echo top handle runs a stihl bar now. Been through 3 echo bars snd wore em out bad. So the good ol stihl steel now

Well, not purely small chain - but will still be interesting to see how they perform:
- 3/8" LowProfile (.050" ; 52DL): Dolmar 092, Oregon PowerSharp, Stihl Duro? (carbide tipped), Lux (Oregon 91)
- 3/8" (,058" ; 72DL ; 115DL): Dolmar 099, Stihl Duro? (carbide tipped), Carlton A2LM, TriLink (chisel & semi chisel)

I was sure I had a 3/8" 72DL Oregon loop, but nope! :(
Age is taking its toll. ;)

Bucking cuts only, the Sachs-Dolmar 108 is not good for noodling as she pulls all the noodles under the clutch cover which in turn bogs and stalls the saw.

Chainsaw is 1985. Sachs-Dolmar 108, 40cc, 1.7kW/2.1HP, I bought her used but from what I have seen she did not get any mayor overhauls - thus she might be a bit lower on power than specified.
The saw is set up with a 14" Dolmar branded Oregon laminate bar.

Test log is a debarked semi dry oak firewood log, with semi dry I mean the bark peeled off easy enough but the wood is far from seasoned.

All chains are 3/8" LowProfile/Picco, .050", 52DL.

Dolmar 092 loop

Stihl Picco Duro 3 loop

Oregon PowerSharp loop

Lux K09 (= Oregon 91) loop

P.S./EDIT:
In all clips the third cut is a forced feed cut by exerting pressure on the front handle and/or engaging the bucking spikes.
As You can see the Sachs-Dolmar 108 is not powerful enough to force her through the cuts with new sharp chains.
