Looks great. I haven't seen an ax like that with a pointed/angled line on the poll. Maybe they put it there so no one uses it to hit anything?
Cool head though.

call off the dogs, it's just a forging mark up at the top, the poll is flat/normal
I think the angle of the original picture distorted what we were seeing

Since you started that axe handle thread I seem to cut the billets around the 40” mark always on the lookout for candidates
and if they split down nice they’ll get a shot at being a handle

And get that’ll blacksmiths rasp going it eats wood like a Dolmar

If I ever stop playing with my saws I’ll be getting some slabs cut for handles. Currently out of billets and it’s too damn cold. Lol
