Got my little guy fitted with a new handle. Gotta put a few coats of Linseed oil on it. Then it'll be ready for firepit duty.

Nice Brian, any idea what the notch is for? Looks like a pop a top for a PBR.

Yes they do. Mine has split alot of wood and silver maple is no effort at all. The cherry gave me a Lil work out, but it wasn't as sharp as it is now

Google machine calls it a nail notch. Must been using square nails yet.....

...and the top is still on your PBR. Lol

I still have what's left of a few old Simmons red tang files that I used Millwrighting. Would get 'em from the saw filers. Best file I ever had.

After loosing an axe in the woods, that paint is a nice idea.

I fixed my issue by buying one of those aluminum axe pouches, & if I'm in the woods, it's either in my hands or in the pouch.

I sure would like to find an old good single bit in the 4.5- 5lb range: I like my Council Tools Jersey, even the handle, but I wish it was a tick heavier.

I just proved that theory correct today. Lost my Husqvarna Forest Axe and can not find it for the life of me. :( Never painted it cause it was so purdy. Guess I need to heed my own advice...
