It’s unmarked so I don’t know maybe just a hardware store axe but it’s a nice profile

That "permabond" should be a teller, if it's orange it's probably a paper label swede or West German axe, red should be Plumb.

Just received these in the mail from an Ebay auction.

They are in great shape! The search for handles begins.

Not bad for a $5 Ebay Axe head!!!

Some elbow grease and a Whiskey River Trading Co handle, a few coats of BLO and a good edge.

That is the first handle I've hung. Took my time, made a few mistakes, learned a few things but it came out solid and looks good. It takes a nice sharp edge and swings nice. I spilt some oak with it. Worked great.

The Craftsman head will be up next.

I swung a 4.5lb Plumb (5.5 w/a haft) falling and bucking for an afternoon or two and let me tell you, I remembered it the next morning. For over a year or so I'd spend days or even weeks in a row doing falling and bucking with axes and it was a pretty good workout. I was in the best shape of my life, and then I started running saws.

My 3rd Ive owned over the years.
This one is a little rough (nice patina).

They are high on the list of best steel Ive owned IMHO.
This is the only one I have left & cant find a handle to fit it (going on 2 years looking)

What kinda handle and eye size ya looking for ?

Handle refit. It was not installed correctly, loose and ugly. Pulled the old metal wedges (3...), refit with no ledge, slimmed the shoulder (was wider than the cheeks) and new rosewood wedge.
